The Aus Prix is a prestigious Classical Finals that is open to all students 10 years and above. Everyone is invited to enter and attend the workshops classes and compete in the competition.
The Aus Prix Finals encompasses a ballet and contemporary class and a competition component. The competition requires all finalists to compete in a classical ballet and open genre competition division.
The classes and competition are adjudicated by our professional industry panel members.
All Finalists will perform two solos – a classical ballet solo and an open genre solo, meaning you can perform any other solo you wish. This is a chance to show your versatility as a dancer.
The Aus Prix is a prestigious competition, with major cash prizes, and requires qualification for the classes and competition via submitting an audition video. The selection panel will then assess each audition, with successful candidates being invited to participate in the classes and perform in the competition.
Finalists will be selected upon the Semi Finals aspect of the competition being completed. Finalists in each age category will be invited to perform in the Finals to compete.
Solo Requirements for Finals
The competition component requires all competitors to dance two solos. The Classical Ballet or Repertoire solo is compulsory, and the second solo will be a genre of choice. Competitors can select from the list below.
Classical Ballet (First Solo)
A classical ballet or repertoire solo must only be performed in the classical ballet section.
Open Genre (Second Solo)
Dancers can select from the following genres to perform as their second solo:
- Classical Contemporary
- Neo Classical
- Demi Character
- National
- Jazz or Broadway Jazz
- Lyrical
- Tap
- Commercial Contemporary
This is your opportunity to show the adjudicating panel your versatility as a dancer. All competitors will receive a voice critique from each panel member and a score.
